Illawarra Festival and Melbourne Report

Illawarra Festival was really lovely. As always, children are welcomed and free to roam safely, and the vibe is convivial and relaxed. Met some beautiful people, particularly our hosts, and enjoyed new music (see forum). Our first visit to Melbourne... I feel inspired. Also, great billeting experience and we had a warm welcome at the Retreat Hotel. Thanks to all who attended. If you were there you know it was a special evening, particularly when Toshi, the bodran player from Japan, stepped up to stage, with a tear in his eye, and said, "I must play with you!" And off we went. He was fantastic. I hope he finds me at the Newstead Festival this weekend. Toshi, if you are out there, I will play with you anytime mate! We are thinking about returing to both communities for a few House Concerts and will keep y'all posted on the details. We are now "summering in Sumer" and will be heading for Newstead Live for Saturday and Sunday shows.
